Gold Nanoparticles

i-colloid® gold nanoparticles are produced by IMRA’s pulsed laser ablation in liquid (PLAL) process, in which fragmentation of a bulk gold target generates  negatively-charged nanoparticles stabilized without surfactants or capping ligands required for stabilizing conventional chemically-synthesized gold. The “bare” nanoparticle surface allows efficient passive antibody conjugation as well as sequential functionalization with thiolated biomolecules.

40 nm gold is recommended to produce antibody conjugates for lateral flow immunoassays, and 20 nm gold is recommended to produce functionalized conjugates for cell/tissue targeting and labeling applications.

All our gold batches must meet stringent size, size distribution, and optical specifications for QC release and are supplied with a batch-specific conformance certificate.
